Parkinson's Education for Nurses

  • Oregon Health & Science University Parkinson Center Portland, OR (map)

The Edmond J. Safra Nurse Educator Program at Parkinson’s Foundation was created to prepare nurse faculty and educators across the U.S. to educate nursing students and nursing staff about Parkinson’s disease. This accredited train-the-trainer program was designed to enhance the knowledge and confidence of nursing educators in developing course content, delivering lectures, and providing clinical experience on Parkinson’s to nursing students and fellow nurses. Funded by the Edmond J. Safra Foundation, the program hosts several in-person, 3-day training courses each year at university-based movement disorder centers.

CEs are offered to the nurse faculty and educators for this course.  CEs are awarded after the evaluation is completed after the "live days" program. And then CEs (up to 25) are also awarded for an independent project.

There is no registration cost. There are 6 seats available.
