Parkinson's Education for Nurses

  • Oregon Health & Science University Parkinson Center (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The Edmond J. Safra Nurse Educator Program at Parkinson’s Foundation was created to prepare nurse faculty and educators across the U.S. to educate nursing students and nursing staff about Parkinson’s disease. This accredited train-the-trainer program was designed to enhance the knowledge and confidence of nursing educators in developing course content, delivering lectures, and providing clinical experience on Parkinson’s to nursing students and fellow nurses. Funded by the Edmond J. Safra Foundation, the program hosts several in-person, 3-day training courses each year at university-based movement disorder centers.

CEs are offered to the nurse faculty and educators for this course.  CEs are awarded after the evaluation is completed after the "live days" program. And then CEs (up to 25) are also awarded for an independent project.

There is no registration cost. There are 6 seats available.

This is not an ENA endorsement, nor is this event promoted for financial gain.

Emergency Nursing Webinar Series: The Evolution of Bronchiolitis Management

Emergency Nursing Webinar Series: The Evolution of Bronchiolitis Management

Kiel Bisceglia, BSRT, RRT, discusses the evolution of bronchiolitis management at Randall Children's Hospital, highlighting the introduction of various protocols and the 2023 Quality Improvement (QI) project. The QI project reviewed literature and surveyed other hospitals to determine effective and safe High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) flow rates and weaning protocols. The presentation also addresses racial and ethnic disparities in bronchiolitis hospitalizations, emphasizing the need for culturally appropriate preventive measures. Key findings from the literature review and outcome data from the QI project indicate that higher HFNC flow rates can be safely managed on acute care floors, reducing ICU utilization and improving patient care.
